Our Fall church yard banner will be arriving soon, with a goal of inviting passersby to contemplate the notion of “Food for Your Soul.” Fall is a time when we celebrate the harvest and spend time sharing meals with family and in community – whether that be at a tailgate, church baked potato bar, or Thanksgiving meal. In Fall we continue to gather for worship, where our souls are fed in community through special music, song, scripture, word, and prayer.

And in Fall we continue to serve, both locally and beyond – sharing our resources with others as we gather items for food pantries, raise money for Church World Service through the CROPWalk, clean up the community garden, clean windows at Cedars, invite neighbors into the church, knit, quilt and crochet, and receive special offerings for missions around the world.

This Fall, and in this Thanksgiving season, I give thanks that South Gate is a place where people can grow as disciples as we learn to engage, act and grow in our faith in community.
